Bring your tripod with you all the time.
Don’t leave it behind. You know for a fact that you need a tripod in the first place. It is something that you will absolutely need and something that you should always try to go ahead and take advantage of as a professional wedding photographer. You might think that you will be able to get away with shooting the wedding with the camera being held by hand all of the time, this is not exactly the case. You will still have a need for a tripod one way or the other and this is the kind of thing that you should constantly be looking out for at the end of the day.
Make it a point to always bring it along with you all of the time.
A tripod is something that will really be able to help you out when you are shooting somewhere dark. It is something that can be quite crucial to the overall success and quality of the photos that you get to produce. If bringing it around with you all of the time is something that tends to affect you and you feel as if you are having a bit of a hard time having to lug it around with you all of the time, you might want to upgrade to a more mobile friendly tripod. Get yourself a tripod that is build for easy mobility. It can cost a little more than the usual but it will be well worth the added expense.
Don’t invest in a flimsy tripod.
A flimsy tripod may seem appealing because it does not cost as much as a regular and high standard tripod but it is not worth it at the end of the day. As a wedding photographer, you should always ensure the safety of your equipment or of your photography gear. If you get a flimsy tripod, you are putting your gear at risk of toppling over or of crashing into the ground because it might buckle under the weight of the camera and lens that you are mounting on top of it while you are at it.
You will end up buying another tripod somewhere along the way because it is not something that will stand the test of time as well as the wear and tear of the rigors of what comes along with the job of a wedding photographer. Make one good buy when you are trying to look for a tripod that you can use in Edinburgh wedding photography and you will never have to worry about it ever again. Although this may turn out to be a little bit more expensive than the cheap and sub standard tripod, this will get to save you money in the long run because you will not end up having to keep buying a tripod again and again.
Don’t ever touch the center column of the tripod.
The center column is the most vulnerable part of the tripod and you should not touch it as much as possible. If you have a need for added height, you can always extend the legs outwards.
